Yoga for First Responders (YFFR) has a mission of bringing yoga philosophy, through somatic and cognitive exercises, to practical applications for first responders around the country.

We will do this through training teachers and psychologists on our unique approach and continue to support them while initiating yoga programs into training academies, police and fire departments, and local community settings.

Core Values

Our program stays integral to its initial system and values yet continues to develop. Yoga for First Responders stays rooted in the fundamental components of our unique system of yoga and mindfulness techniques as tools for the management of stress and the enhancement of resiliency. This may mean a smaller staff and fewer initial trainings. But our trainings will always be comprehensive and our content will always be outstanding .
Our Program respects the first responder community, culture and personality. Yoga for First Responders enhances the positive efforts of first responders and helps mitigate the adverse affects of cumulative stress and vicarious traumatization that causes poor performance. We are not here to change ethics, morals or belief
Our trainees will always be prepared. All attendees who successfully complete our training will continue to be supported by our program. Our trainings will provide them with the knowledge they need to initiate a yoga program for first responders in their community. Yoga for First Responders will offer a fully accessible support system as they gain experience. Through wellprepared instructors first responders will experience a new level of preparedness for their career.
Our program is family. Through social media, newsletters, and facilitator manuals participants will receive updates, continuing education opportunities, resource support and more. Yoga for First Responders’ faculty, teachers and trainees will maintain a close knit group for a strong foundation as the program builds.
Our program is down to earth and pragmatic. Yoga for First Responders values straight forward communication as we bring ancient techniques to practical applications. We use language and an attitude that creates a functional and easyto-
access style of offering yoga in the 21st century.
